DESTINATION; DISTORTION

DESTINATION; DISTORTION

Train stations are so strange. Every destination all over the country is just a chamber of mixed emotional gain or loss.

You're constantly leaving or meeting someone, feeling happiness and excitement on your journey there. But leaving brings you an overwhelming sadness. My mind leaves me demure and isolated at my seat. Watching through the window at repetitive fields. It's funny how you're always on the move but everywhere looks the same.

The vision of the train station sign slides away, I memorise its thick bold text through my strands of hair, blinding my eyesight. I slide my fingers to swoop the parting of my hair and clear my vision. The world is such a strange place. Though my vision is clear I always feel blinded by the world somehow.

I wish I could fabricate a remedy to clear my sight, and smear away the constant filter of visual distortion.

The table seat -
Constant awkward eye contact and never feeling any comfort. It's like you've constantly got a spotlight on you, people judging you by every movement. Sitting quietly just thinking, like the girl opposite me. Who's constantly clacking her boots into my ankle. I'm transparent to her, just another stranger filling in the spaces.

The ignorance of some people make me happy, I hate conversation with strangers.
There's always bad eye contact but for once I've not glanced over.
I catch a glimpse of her reflection in the window. The collision of fields, trees and clouds over Malvern Link pace through the right of her cheek.
My throat tightens and suddenly I'm hit with sickness.
I watch her face clash with the overwhelming beauty of the countryside. Beams of sunlight flash with speed through trees and into our window, forming patterns to slide over her face. I've not looked over once and I know she's a rose.

My eyes magnify her every move with deep observation. Suddenly the window turns black and we're passing through a tunnel. She's caught me, everything bright and open turns bleak and into closure.

The speakers call out the next stop, I've never been so angry at a recorded message.
She tucks her phone into the biggest pocket of her bag and vacates her seat leaving a presence that leaves a man aching at the heart strings.

The way people come and go is one of life's worst assets, if only I'd have said a word to her.
I'd finally have an answer, we could have hit it off in a romanticism you only see in scripts and film reels.
She could have became a friend, maybe more..

I doubt she'd have liked Sonic Youth though.

Dying Infamous

DYING INFAMOUS

- Dying famous Famous: Known about by many people.
Synonyms; celebrated - noted - well known - famed
To die infamous is a state of mind, a masterplan maybe? Nonetheless dying infamous to me is a very romanticized view on how a legends persona can live for eternity. To cut the bullshit you've noticed the header, sadly they're all dead? All but one. Kurt Cobain, Dash Snow, Jim Morrison, all dead but names that will live on for eternity (in our life span) all for different reasons, right? Even if not they've made big changes in the never-ending progress of what the future of art and music will hold. These three faces are an example of how an untimely tragic death can make a persons artwork always be relevant no matter how long they're gone. Nirvana is still relevant to this day and since Cobain's death has caused fans to obsess for messages and signs all throughout his music. This still happens now, it'll always happen and never stop being relevant. I've looked through Kurt Cobain an awful lot and there's so many hints to say he planned his death. Not for any specific time, but he just knew he wanted to end it that way. Kurt, Dash, Jim all still died in infamous ways. They cheated the plan of living an eternity and turned it into a masterplan, no one lives forever but their names will even if they couldn't enjoy their remaining years. Why does that matter? They probably wouldn't be remembered for as long as they will if they lived on, the tragedy of untimely loss is a huge impact on their story.

- Dying infamous
Infamous: having a reputation of the worst kind / well known for a bad quality or deed.
Synonyms; disgraceful - disreputable - shameful - ignominious
Now, moving on to Pete Doherty. There's a difference between dying infamous and famous. Pete Doherty will die infamous, due to the British media exposing absolutely anything bad on him and writing in complete prejudice. It's a shame people actually believe anything the papers say, it's the perfect description for a worldwide brainwash. Ask anyone about Pete Doherty who hasn't listened to his music it's always the same reply 'That junkie who went out with Kate Moss, oh he makes music?'. I've met Pete a number of times after some of his shows and he always has time for his fans, always sharing stories and even let me and a friend on his tour bus for an hour. That experience was really something special for a 16 year old me, it all seems quite surreal now. Every time I've seen Pete perform I always go away thinking the possibility it could have been my last time seeing him play.

- Paparazzi or Hitler Youth?
The paparazzi are right up there in my book with some of the lowest pieces of scum that walk the earth. I've always described them as a watered down Hitler Youth, but targets being anyone with a famous reputation and publicly murdering them in the papers each week. It's social homicide, and with the way things are and continue to be Pete will never escape that. I said I'd rather him run away with someone and fade out the legend than have to face how cruel the media will be towards his death.
This is the media all wrapped up in one right here..
Pete Doherty's fanbase are all late teen onwards, always getsd abused. Where as that Cory Monteith who died the other week was looked up to by kids. If you've heard of Glee you obviously know how bad it sounds if a crucial character of a KIDS TV SHOW dies from drugs. It sends out a really bad
You now have all 4 faces of a dying breed of infamy.
